Telerehabilitation for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Yes!  Even without a physical exam, there is a lot that can be done to help and to begin a plan of care. You don’t have to wait until you can see us in person to begin your path to getting better.

Much of your initial evaluation involves taking your history, listening to your descriptions of what is going on, and understanding what you have tried (successfully or unsuccessfully) in the past.  Your education and understanding of all the components of the pelvis are key aspects to your recovery.  We can use the video option to see you moving and come up with options to help make things better. We can work on self-treatment options using your own hands or tools (balls, yoga blocks, etc) to manage painful or stiff spots. We can work with you on graded exposure and sensory integration techniques for getting better movement and function with less bother and less pain. All of these things can be easily accomplished via a Telerehabilitation visit.

Telerehabilitation for pelvic floor rehab is considered a physiotherapy service. If your extended health benefits cover physiotherapy services, then it is likely they will cover Telerehabilitation. Please verify with your benefits provider.

For your Telerehabilitation visit, our therapists use a video platform which is encrypted and private (PIPA/PIPEDA compliant). The audio and video of your Tele-Rehab video sessions will not be recorded or stored. All personal information you provide is confidential and will be written into your chart, as required by the law, the same as if you attended an in-person visit at the clinic.

Please call Jodi at 250-813-2384, or email us at info@functioncenter4health.com if you have any questions about how a Telerehabilitation appointment can benefit you.
